FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the LinkedIn Post Preview Tool.

What is LinkedIn's character limit for posts?
LinkedIn allows up to 3,000 characters for regular feed posts. However, only the first ~210 characters are shown before a "see more" link appears. This makes your opening hook critically important — our tool shows you exactly where the fold cuts your post so you can optimize the visible portion.
What image dimensions work best for LinkedIn posts?
LinkedIn recommends 1200 × 627 pixels (1.91:1 aspect ratio) for single shared images in the feed. For profile banner images, use 1584 × 396 px. Square images (1:1) at 1080 × 1080 px also work well and tend to take up more vertical feed space, which can increase engagement.
How many hashtags should I use on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn recommends using 3–5 hashtags per post. Using too many (10+) can make a post look spammy and may reduce organic reach. Our preview highlights your hashtags in real time so you can check the visual balance before publishing.
Is my LinkedIn content saved anywhere?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser. No text, images, or data is transmitted to any server or third party. When you close or refresh the page, everything is cleared. Your professional content remains completely private.
What's the best posting time on LinkedIn?
Most research suggests Tuesday through Thursday between 8–10 AM and 12 PM in your target audience's local time zone tend to see the highest engagement on LinkedIn, as professionals are most active during workday hours. However, testing your own audience's behaviour is always the best approach.
Can I preview LinkedIn articles with this tool?
The current tool previews standard LinkedIn feed posts. LinkedIn articles (long-form content published via LinkedIn's article editor) have a different layout with a separate header image, title, and subtitle. An article previewer is on our roadmap.
Does this work for company page posts too?
Yes. The preview mockup works for both personal profiles and company page posts. Simply update the name and headline fields in the Profile tab to reflect your company page name and tagline. The post card layout is the same for both on LinkedIn's feed.
